This project combined Facebook, streaming video, a giant pinata and a robot named Carlos that likes to swing. An enormous Pinata was created for Vodafone's Facebook fans to take a whack at, for a bit of fun and the chace to win some prizes. Via a Facebook App fans joined the queue, picked one of four predetermined moves such as "The Zorro", then watch Carlos smash it.
At various times during the campaign we upped the intensity of the swing and asked the users for what tool Carlos should hit with (the axe was a favourite). After 2 weeks the Vodafone Facebook fan page had gained an extra 8000 fans and feedback on the page showed that users really enjoyed using the app. When the pinata broke fans scrambled to pick up one of 500 prizes including Galaxy Tabs, mexican wretling masks and music and flight vouchers.
